To inaugurate the soon-to-be-opened Wexham Park Hospital’s brand new £49 million emergency assessment centre, healthcare professionals are being invited to a recruitment day tomorrow, November 17, 2018.

Located in Slough, the four-storey emergency centre is considered to be one of the newest and best in the country and is expected to start bringing in patients in Spring 2019. Under this system, the emergency department, ambulatory care and surgical and medical assessment centres will be encompassed in one new building.

The new centre is anticipated to be significantly larger than the current department, which will allow the hospital to incorporate a wider healthcare system and a series of new treatment pathways.

A number of nursing opportunities will be available for review at the recruitment day, with all students being invited, as well as newly qualified and experienced nurses to join the guided tours and network with senior staff.

The interviews will be conducted by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Wexham Park Hospital, with job offers to be provided on the spot.

James Rolfe, the emergency department matron, said: “The EAC is the biggest single investment in Wexham Park since the hospital was built more than half a century ago.

“It is a state-of-the-art facility designed by clinicians with patient care at its heart.

“We don’t believe there will be a more exciting or better place to work and progress in the NHS and we can’t wait to show people around.”
