A range of UK medtechs and medical innovators have showcased their work in the digital health space at the Arab Health 2022 exhibition, which took place in Dubai earlier this week.

As part of the event, a seminar entitled ‘Next Steps for Digital Health’ featured a live case study from UK innovator Kheiron Medical Technologies, which has developed an AI breast screening solution. The solution, ‘Mia,’ is seeking to address the radiology workforce crisis and has been developed to give women better outcomes in their cancer treatments by supporting radiologists to read breast mammograms

Neville Young, director of Enterprise and Innovation at the Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) spoke about the conference: “Digital health has been central to the public COVID-19 response, and the market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, including in regions such as the Middle East where the rise in non-communicable diseases continue to pose a great challenge."

Young added: "With hospitals striving to catch up with backlogs, and new systems and processes needing to be set up to give patients access to remote hospital care, digital solutions are in high demand globally.”

Other UK innovators that have presented at the exhibition included RLDatix, Behold.ai, Huma, and EIDO Healthcare who discussed how to maximise the potential of digital and data to transform healthcare services and how to enable consistent delivery of care using remote digital solutions.

Arab Health took place from 24th to 27th January and gathered 56,000 healthcare professionals from around the world at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
