Responsible for supporting the laboratory sales team in pathology (LIMS, digital pathology), diagnostics and life science sales you will normally be educated to degree or PhD level in a relevant life science subject with experience in molecular or microbiology, cell culture, biochemistry, blood sciences, histology, anatomical pathology or haematology.
Working in primary care or hospitals you will use your pathology laboratory / clinical chemistry experience in the commercial setting working with innovative POC equipment aimed at near patient testing providing rapid blood results ensuring patient pathway flow is optimised and outcomes improved.
These roles require a technical background as a biomedical scientist in medical laboratory sciences – biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, tissue diagnostics / histology combined with a sales track record or commercial acumen.
With a strong background in genetics, molecular biology or life sciences you will have a good understanding of modern molecular systems and molecular and in vitro diagnostic techniques including qPCR, rt-PCR, next generation sequencing, nucleic acid extraction, nucleic acid purification and be able to use this with your varied customer base including university research laboratories, NHS pathology and pharmaceutical / biotech companies.
Normally coming from a life sciences background you will promote a range of products into the hospital laboratory and research lab environment.
