In an attempt to increase the number of midwifes, nurses and paramedics in Cumbria, the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle is hosting a recruitment drive on March 9, 2019 between 10am and 4pm at the Education Centre.

The event will be hosted by the North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust (NCUH) in conjunction with the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) and the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).

The event will be supported by the University of Cumbria who will be running workshops and giving talks on the UK’s medical training protocols. Interviews will also be held to speed up the application processes for those who have already applied for specific positions.

Operations manager for NWAS, Caroline Hastings, said: “This is a fantastic event for anyone considering their career options. We work very closely with our colleagues across the health system and this brings some really unique opportunities.”

Workshops and tours will happen throughout the day, giving those interested a glimpse into the local health services and ambulance stations.

Director of Nursing for CPFT and NCUH, Alison Smith, commented: “We have such a wide range of roles and development opportunities so it’s great to be able to work together and showcase these in one place.

"This follows four previous events which have resulted in the successful recruitment of health professionals and students from across the UK. I’d encourage anyone who is interested to come along and meet the teams to see what we can offer.”
