SME investment firm Foresight Group has boosted Northern Irish private healthcare company 352 Medical Group (3fivetwo) with a £5 million investment to improve its operations across its private Belfast and Sligo hospitals.

The funds will be used to increase the company’s medical staff and ward and theatre capacities. All renovations and extensions will begin in 2019.

Established in 2004 by Suresh Tharma, then an NHS consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, 3fivetwo provides 3D scanning services for health, obstetrics and gynaecology purposes. It caters to private patients, but also outsources its services to the NHS.

Tharma, the current joint chief executive, said: “Foresight believes in our vision and supports our aspirations to be a world leading healthcare company and we realised that our goals were aligned from an early stage.

“We are immensely proud of the faith they have shown in us. While they naturally want to make a return on their investment for their investors, they also want to make a difference to the people of Northern Ireland in the process. Our plans are ambitious and set a path for achieving both objectives.”

Chris Wardle, senior investment manager at Foresight Group, commented: “3fivetwo has a unique proposition and the directors have proven their ability to identify and address exciting opportunities, while improving thousands of lives. Foresight has a long history of investing in the UK and Ireland, supporting hundreds of SMEs to achieve ambitious goals.”
