Olympus Corporation has announced that it has acquired FH ORTHO SAS, an international orthopaedic company based in France, following the close of a definitive agreement signed in the summer.
According to Olympus, the acquisition is a symbol of the firm's commitment to the expansion of is orthopaedic minimally invasive surgery (MIS), which it aims to achieve both through organic growth, and through mergers and acquisitions.
The purchase helps Olympus build on its impressive portfolio of innovative solutions that are already used in MIS surgery on foot and ankle surgery, ligament repair and trauma surgery. According to the firm, it will strengthen its sales channels by allowing it to distribute its products through FH ORTHO's existing channels.
The company has revealed that its ultimate goal is to take advantage of the growing field by developing innovative solutions that improve outcomes, reduce costs and enhance the patients' quality of life.
