A physiotherapy group in Newcastle has been snapped up by a counterpart which has centres and operations across the country.
Based on Station Road in South Gosforth, the Balmoral Physiotherapy has been acquired by Therapy Direct Healthcare, headquartered in Gateshead, which provides a range of services including private physiotherapy, corporate services, and occupational physiotherapy.
Founded in 1986, the Balmoral Physiotherapy group presently offers sports massages for those with sports-related injuries, podiatry, and acupuncture services to clients in the region. It also boasts home visits to those in Gosforth, Jesmond, and Heaton, for those with mobility or neurological issues.
The acquisition will support Therapy Direct Healthcare in growing its operations in the North East of England by taking on more trained professionals and medically-qualified members of staff to expand its existing range of services.
Managing director of Therapy Direct Healthcare, Ross Tomkins, commented: “We’re thrilled. Balmoral gives us a larger presence in the North East.
“We can employ more people in the area and help more businesses that are based here, offering their teams top healthcare that’s designed especially for them.
“We’ve always been well-known for our patient-centred approach to care. The team at South Gosforth is highly talented and we’re excited to welcome them into our growing portfolio of health businesses.”
