Growing scientific equipment manufacturer has record sales
20/01/2012
A Shropshire-based manufacturer of components for scientific and medical equipment registered record sales figures in 2011, highlighting the work of their scientific sales team.
Advanced Chemical Etching (ACE), which is headquartered in Telford, registered sales of £3.6 million. It also increased its staff by 30 per cent to 35 employees – including new scientific sales jobs – to cope with the international demand for its products.
The company makes precision components for state-of-the-art medical implants, and also provides components for aerospace, automotive electronics, telecoms and renewables industries.
ACE’s managing director, Alan Rollason, said that the company’s growth was extremely heartening and gave credit to all of the workers throughout their operations.
Mr Rollason observe: “After the tough times of 2009, it is excellent to be sitting here and seeing investments in new processes and technologies pay off across virtually every industry we operate in.
“The growth is fantastic news for the business as it illustrates we are doing the right things and also highlights the outstanding work of our staff, many of whom have been with us since the start."
He said that the next year will see them grow even more and they are planning to invest nearly £1 million in expanding the production area and factory space.
ACE’s sales director, Ian Wiles, said that around 30 per cent of the business's turnover now goes overseas, with high demand from Germany and the Benelux countries, as well as growing opportunities in the US and China.
